Neil Bennett, B.C.L.S., C.L.S.
Neil Bennett was commissioned as a B.C. Land Surveyor in 1975 and as a Canada Lands Surveyor in 1981. Neil’s early survey career included land development, resource, and industrial related projects in areas including the Arctic, the Middle East, South America and the Lower Mainland of B.C. Neil has been the president of Bennett Land Surveying Ltd. since 1986 and served one year (2008) as president of the Association of B.C. Land Surveyors. Neil has extensive experience with land development, control, construction, microwave and preliminary and legal surveys of power line corridors. Neil has been involved in surveys of First Nations lands along the coast of B.C. for many years, including work on Haida Gwaii, Lax Kw’alaams, and inland settlement claims in Tsawwassen for the Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation.
As a contributing member of the B.C.L.S. community, Neil has written articles for the B.C. Notary Public publication “The Scrivener” (http://www.notaries.bc.ca/resources/scrivener/winter2004/13_4_8.pdf) and numerous articles for the B.C.L.S. publication “The Link Magazine” (September 2003; March 2004; June 2005; March, June and December of 2006; June 2007; March, June, September and December of 2008; April and October of 2009; and August 2010).

Michael Seitz, B.C.L.S.
Michael Seitz, B.C.L.S. has been involved in the surveying profession since 1976 and was commissioned as a B.C. Land Surveyor in 1985. Throughout the years he has gained experience in managing topographic mapping surveys, mineral claim, utility right-of-way, construction, legal, and GPS control surveys. Mike has worked in remote areas of the Canada, U.S., Africa, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, and South America. Mike has been involved in projects involving environmentally sensitive areas ranging from fragile alpine meadows to streamside fish habitats. Many projects have involved covenant plans to protect both environmental and archaeological sites.

Patrick Korabek, B.C.L.S.
Patrick Korabek has been with Bennett Land Surveying Ltd. for over 15 years and became a partner in early 2005. Since receiving his commission in 2000, Patrick’s focus has been in the field of engineering and cadastral surveys within the Lower Mainland, ranging from small single-family residential projects to large multi-unit strata property developments. Patrick has recently served as the Chairperson of the Professional Assessment and Qualifications Committee for the Association of B.C. Land Surveyors.

Michael Shaw, B.C.L.S.
Mike Shaw, B.C.L.S. has worked in the survey profession for over 35 years. He earned his diploma in Surveying Technology from BCIT in 1973 and was commissioned as a B.C. Land Surveyor in 1988. He is experienced in a wide range of Engineering, Hydrographic and Legal surveys.
Mike has been involved in engineering surveys for mining, major aerial photography projects, pipeline routes and dam construction. He has worked in the Middle East and throughout the province of British Columbia, and in the Yukon, and North West Territories. Since obtaining his commission as a B.C. Land Surveyor in 1988, Mike’s focus has been on cadastral surveys in the Lower Mainland. Mike applies his expertise to major land development projects that include subdivisions (conventional and air space plans), strata plans, leasehold plans, right of ways and all other aspects of surveying.

Colin Cowx
As you can tell from the photo, Colin Cowx has been in the surveying business for a long time (40 years). As a young surveyor Colin worked for the British Columbia Provincial Government carrying out highway rights-of-way surveys. He has experience in all types of surveying, particularly in mineral claims surveys and hydro rights-of-way. He has worked all over B.C. and as far north as Alaska. Colin has been with Bennett Land Surveying Ltd. for over 20 years and is currently a project manager on large residential, condominium and retail developments.

Nancy Bennett
Nancy Bennett has been the Bennett Land Surveying Ltd. office manager for over 20 years. Prior to Bennett Land Surveying Ltd., Nancy worked as a teacher in Yellowknife, Fort St. John and Burnaby. In her free time, Nancy enjoys working on creative projects, including designing paper gift bags and working in her garden.

Cheryl Evernden
Cheryl Evernden works in front office accounting, payroll and Human Resources services. She joined Bennett Land Surveying Ltd. in 2007 after a lengthy at-home stretch raising her only child. Prior to that, Cheryl worked in the financial industry for 15 years.
